How it works?
SmartBunker® has a unique easy to operate dispensing mechanism. Simply place bucket inside, then pull handle downwards to release the meal. Very little force is required. As you let go, the handle returns automatically and flow into the bucket stops.

SmartBunker maintain’s a high level of hygiene due to low levels of mould and yeast growth.
Storing feed in metal dustbins is not recommended due to the likelihood of condensation (first project) development and an increased moisture content that can promote mould and yeast growth.
Storing feed in plastic feed bags with no other protection did not reduce feed hygiene in this study however it is not recommended due to the unstable environment within the plastic bag and the potential for vermin to contaminate feed with faeces and urine.

I am very happy with the Smart Bunker. I use it to store calf ration in the calf shed. I buy 6 bags of ration put them in and take out as I need it. I don’t have to worry about drawing vermin or birds and the ration is always dry and in top condition when I need it. With regards to making improvements the only thing that might be beneficial to some people would be a hopper with a larger capacity. I wish you well

‘I have had my SmartBunker since March and to be honest, I have no idea how I was happy with my feed storage before that! It was very easy to set up, is extremely solid and takes up much less space than my old metal bin. I instantly realised that I wouldn’t be wasting any feed or have to break my back trying to get the last bits out of the corners. The chute system is genius and means that the oldest feed is used first and there is never any old or contaminated feed in the bunker which means I can make sure that my horse is eating feed at its best at all times. It is totally sealed and waterproof so I could keep it outside if I wanted to and there is no chance of any rats/mice getting in. What a brilliant piece of kit!’

Keep meaning to post this. I have been using my Smart Bunkers for about a year now to store my bulk horse feed. They are great!!! Can’t recommend them enough! They hold 8, 20kg bags with ease and keeps it fresh (not that it really gets a chance to go off), but they also keep my feed room nice and clean and rodent free.

I found you because l already have a smartbunker and it works so well for animal feed, I wanted to get another to replace the salt/grit bins I was using up to now…
Animal health visited me a few years ago and the chap was so impressed he was taking pictures to show colleagues and would also recommend to other smallholders..
I asked when or where did you buy the smart bunker
Am not sure where I got it, might have been on ebay when you were in early days maybe 2013.
I have my current one set up to do a mix of grains for my poultry, but the new one will be to hold feed for my goats. It will free up a ton of floor space in my feed area…and less likely for the goats to raid it as well if they break out as I tend to leave the lid up on the grit bins when I am tired lol.
Can I have a blue one please, I will keep poultry food in black, and goat feed in blue…
It is me confusing matters by talking about grit bins… these were my old storage system… but they aren’t very practical and hold stuff in the bottom, plus it isn’t a first in first out (FIFO) system which is much better for keeping feed dispensed within expiry dates etc.
Your bins are great because they fit the FIFO principle, and I hang a clipboard near for expiry/lot numbers of feed bags. Dry, no vermin can get in and the other thing I have noticed is no condensation. Much smaller footprint compared to the giant bins I was using before.

What I have really enjoyed about the smart bunker is that it is very user friendly. We are a small farm 60 -80 breeding ewes and struggled to fine a feed storage system that was vermin proof, wasn’t a bin, was v user friendly and storage sensible and didn’t mean we had to buy masses of bulk feed. We do not use masses of feed except at key points of the year. The smart bunker has been a godsend at a busy time of year. The ewes look well, the feed is vermin proof and the service was terrific. Delighted. Perfect for us!

Incredible design and super smart. This makes life so much easier in the yard along with keeping food fresh, clean and accessible! We use this for horse feed and for salt for the winter. Such a time saver to just let the feed flow out into a bucket. It’s a sturdy quality design and I couldn’t do without it.

Just wanted to confirm that I received the product and it is working a treat and saving my father a lot of lifting during the lambing period so thank you very much for that.
Yeah father thinks it’s a great job and working well for him, as I said saving him a good bit of lifting. It’s currently up in the shed where we have the pens set up for the ewes and lambs.

Rare Breed Farm Windfold Farm Review on The Smart Bunker
Received ours last week and I have to say it’s a great product.
We got 7 bags of Ewe Rolls in it but you would get another bag in it if it was crunch or granular feed.
Great product and exactly what our rare breed farm needed,
more so given my partner is pregnant meaning she can’t lift heavy bags.

Since having the smart bunker it’s saved us about 4 bags of feed per delivery. Which at the cost of livestock feed now that’s a reasonable amount. We can fit @ 5.5 x 25kg bags per bunker. We currently have 3.
